Asus Motherboard Drivers For Windows Server 2012
I am looking for drivers so that i can use a developer version of windows server 2012 x64 on this motherboard. i need to use raid, so raid capable drivers for the c600 part of the x79 is required.. That's a desktop "gaming" motherboard, and most likely doesn't have (windows 2012) server drivers available for it, since they usually don't support server os's on desktop boards.. I am setting up a testing environment for server 2012 r2 standard, and i am running it off of a asus z97-a motherboard, and i can not find a network driver anywhere for this motherboard..
After installing windows server 2012 trial on my new system built around asus z87-plus motherboard i found that all windows 8 drivers worked except the network. when setup for network drivers was run it could not find any known network adapters.. That means that desktop drivers will indeed work in windows server (vista drivers for server 2008, windows 7 drivers for server 2008 r2, and windows 8 drivers for server 2012). i have been using desktop motherboards (with and without integrated lan) with the server flavors of windows since *windows server 2003*.. I am building a new small business server, and after going through two different x99 motherboards, i have concluded that very few companies want to release drivers compatible with windows server.
